John Nguyen is the executive chef for The Laura Hotel, Autograph Collection’s restaurant and bar. Executive Chef Nguyen leads the culinary team to develop and serve inventive modern Southern dishes at Hull & Oak Southern Kitchen, as well as dishes and light bites served at The Laura Bar. This is Nguyen’s first position in Houston, to which he brings 14 years of exceptional experience at hotels and world-renowned dining institutions, including San Francisco’s Michelin-recommended Prospect Restaurant, Michelin-starred restaurant Michael Mina and Michelin-starred restaurant SPQR.
In 2009, Nguyen earned an Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts as well as a Certificate in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Dallas, Texas. Nguyen is ServSafe and Texas and California Food Handler certified.
